Sarah Snook's latest movie is topping Netflix steaming charts but some viewers are less than impressed.

Run Rabbit Run sees the Succession star take on a leading role in the thriller currently only available to watch on Netflix.

The film premiered on the platform last month and is currently sitting at the top of Netflix's Top 10-most watched list.

However, many of those who have already watched director Daina Reid’s newest are pleading with other Netflix subscribers to avoid the new release.

The synopsis for Run Rabbit Run reads: "A fertility doctor notices strange behaviour in her young daughter after she claims to have memories of another life and must confront a ghost from her past, challenging her own values."

Since arriving on Netflix on June 28, the horror has received a slew of bad reviews on Rotten Tomatoes - with one film fan warning others: "Netflix’s new horror original makes the irredeemable sin of wasting Sarah Snook."

Another reviewer writes: "A bundle of cheap and loud jump scares with equally obnoxious characters, even if the solid performers are trying to make the most of this messy mass hysterical."

A third scathing review reads: "If you are thinking about watching Run Rabbit Run, DON’T. 2 hours of my life I’ll never get back."

However, some have lapped up the Australian thriller. One happy viewer says: "Run Rabbit Run is a solid, spooky tale without anything too flashy like a Babadook to haunt our dreams and memes but chilling enough to make us sit up in our chairs and scan the screen for the next sign of danger."

Another agrees, adding: "Reid keeps things super scary, and Snook's rich, perplexing performance keeps us on our toes right until the very frightening ending."

The film's lead actress Snook is best known for her stint as Shiv Roy throughout four seasons of Succession, for which she won a Golden Globe Award and earned nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards. The HBO concluded earlier this year after five years.

Snook gave birth to her first child with husband Dave Lawson shortly after the final season of Succession premiered, unveiling her pregnancy bump on the red carpet ahead of the first episode hitting TV screens across the world.

In addition to her Succession role, Snook has appeared in films like Not Suitable for Children (2012), These Final Hours (2013), The Dressmaker (2015), Steve Jobs (2015), The Glass Castle (2017), and Pieces of a Woman (2020). The Australian actress has also popped up in TV shows like Black Mirror.
