Prince Harry is set to focus more on his "passion projects" as he attempts to steer clear of the "celebrity life", according to a culture and brand expert.

The 38-year-old royal and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been in the midst of a career overhaul, with the pair continuing their Netflix collaboration on a series of new shows as part of their whopping $100million (£78million) contract they signed back in 2020.

But speaking exclusively to Mirror US, culture and brand expert Rochelle White has explained that Harry is "planning to take a step back" from the pair's joint career moves in the entertainment industry as he "has never really wanted to be in the spotlight ".

"I feel that this is pretty much on brand for him," she said, adding: "Meghan is used to being in the public eye before she even got with Harry, and I feel that out of both of them, she is the one that everyone would want to speak to and work with.

Rochelle noted that Meghan's experience in the limelight could help her "become a brand and build on what she started in regards to her blog, The Tig, and build on that".

Dismissing the criticism directed towards the mother of two, Rochelle added: "No matter what people say, she has got fans and people who are influenced by her style and life, and this could work well."

Turning her thoughts back to Harry, Rochelle acknowledged that he was happily "letting his wife become a celebrity" as he had other desires.

"Looking at past behaviour, I feel that Harry has never been a fan of the 'celebrity life', and I can see him working and doing things that mean more to him and that he enjoys."

Rochelle concluded: "He's been open enough to make that clear, and I don't want to say he will be doing passion projects, but I don't think it will be far from it."

This comes after Netflix denied the rumours claiming they wanted Harry and Meghan to come up with "more great ideas" if they wanted to take home $ 50 million (£40million) in outstanding fees.

Instead, the streaming giant confirmed that they have a strong connection with Meghan and Harry.

"The bond with Archewell Productions is one we deeply value. Harry & Meghan launched as Netflix's most spectacular documentary debut to date," a Netflix spokesperson said.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, they added: "Our exciting journey with them isn't ending anytime soon. We're currently collaborating on numerous projects, including the much-anticipated documentary series Heart of Invictus."

The Heart of Invictus series is set for an August premiere date.
