When it comes to naming your baby, you have the final say on the name you choose, no matter what other people might think of it. However, if you're going for something outside the box, you should be prepared for some people to judge your choice - even if you love it.

And that's exactly what's happened to one woman who revealed she wants to name her daughter after her grandparents, as she's decided to merge all their names together into one moniker, despite people telling her it's an "awful" idea.

The mum-to-be explained that her two grandfathers were both called Christopher and her grandmothers were named Quinn and Florence, and she wants to fit all of them into her daughter's name. But instead of choosing one name as her first name and another for the middle name, she's smashed the names together to create a new moniker - Quiftopher.

She asked for opinions on the name on Reddit in a post which read: "I am thinking of calling my daughter Quiftopher after my grandparents, Quinn, Florence, and both pops are Christopher. I love the name but have gotten mixed feedback."

The mum continued to get mixed reviews online, with some telling her that her daughter was likely to be picked on at school for the name, and others dubbing it "borderline child abuse".

Others told her the name was "creative", but still maintained that it wasn't a good idea - and the mum has since changed her mind about the unique moniker.

One person said: "That is absolutely awful. Don't do it."

While another added: "No, just no. It's awful. Sorry."

And the mum responded to one comment: "I thought it was cute but might have to rethink it."

Since receiving negative feedback about the potential baby name, the mum has deleted the Reddit post, but it was re-shared on another forum where people continued to question her thought process.

Someone said: "All due respect that name is hideous."

As someone else wrote: "I bet by 'mixed feedback' she means people who either make a face and say 'yeah.. great name…' to be nice, and people who give it to her straight and say that's borderline child abuse."

But some people did have constructive things to say about the name, as they offered alternative suggestions that incorporated all the names into the girl's first and middle names.

"How about Florence Quintopher? Florence is feminine so it works best as the first name and I like a more unusual middle name," one person recommended. While another said: "Quinn Florence would be a better name. Or Fleur since it has some of the letters. Or Fleur Christine."
