Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel has met with Harry Kane as he looks to convince the striker to move to the Allianz Arena.

Tottenham are determined to keep hold of their talismanic forward, who has now entered the final 12 months of his deal. Several clubs have made their interest known but the north Londoners have no interest in selling the England star, who they would value at over £100m.

Tuchel, who has seen Kane close up having been in charge at Chelsea, has met with the forward in his home in London, according to Bild. The German tactician is seeking a prolific marksman and wants Kane to make the switch to the Bundesliga.

The 29-year-old has reportedly told the Bayern boss that winning the Champions League with the Bavarians would appeal as he looks to claim the first piece of silverware of his career. A switch to Germany though would put his hopes of smashing the Premier League goalscoring record on hold.

Bayern are yet to adequately replace Robert Lewandowski, who moved to Barcelona last summer. Bayern snuck home on the final day to retain their Bundesliga crown several weeks ago and want to add some major firepower with Serge Gnabry their top scorer on 14 goals.

The German side have already seen a £60m offer for Kane rejected and will have to smash their own transfer record if they want to land the striker. Manchester United, who have been heavily linked with Kane, have opted to pursue other options this summer.

The Red Devils have endured frustrating times negotiating with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy in the past and do not want a summer-long transfer saga to drag on as they look to get Kane for a fair price. The north Londoners have shown no desire to drop his asking price despite him being available for free in a year.

Levy has recently told the Cambridge Union: "I don't consider myself a special negotiator or anything like that, I'm just acting in the best interests of my club. I think when it comes to the transfer it depends on the balance of power. If you have a player who you really don't want to sell then you have every right to say no, you own the registration."

Bayern could begin negotiating with Kane come January, provided he doesn't sign a new deal, which is Tottenham's ambition. Last term they missed out on European football all together with Ange Postecoglou now in charge having arrived from Celtic.
