With a myriad of dating apps and websites on the market, finding a romantic connection should be easier than ever.

Thanks to the endless potential love matches that are ready to greet you with one swipe; the days of love at first sight on a train, or that electric spark at a bar are long gone. Or so we thought.

Despite the surge in technology, sometimes you simply can't beat the traditional tried and tested methods of shooting your shot, and one brave bus passenger hopes to prove that.

A mystery admirer has taken their chance to swoon a bus driver with a rather direct note – making their affections loud and clear.

Spotted by a local passer-by, the bold bus passenger scrawled a blunt message to the driver and brazenly stuck it onto the stop in Whitefield, Manchester.

Penned in capital letters to avoid any chance of the driver missing it, the sign simply reads: "HEY FIT BUS DRIVER CALL ME" with a number left for the lucky recipient, Manchester Evening News reports.

It's not clear who the 'fit bus driver' is, or which service they work on. But whoever they are, it's clear they've captured the heart of one of their admiring passengers.

Reach Journalist and editor Yakub Qureshi spotted the amorous sign and took to Twitter to share it, writing: "Sometimes the old ways are the best ways". The bold note left other Twitter users in stitches.

Do you know who the admirer is? Let us know in the comments...

He told Manchester Evening News: "I genuinely thought the internet had killed this kind of thing - which I dimly remember from the bus shelters, school corridors and personal ads sections of the 1990s.

"There are several services and drivers who use this route. Whoever wrote this, however serious their intentions, and the subjective description of their intended target, they are throwing a dart into the universe and I think there's something we can all admire from this brash optimism."

The bold romantic gesture seems to be proof that old habits die hard, and sometimes you can't beat being brave and going all out when looking for love.

Whether the bus driver took the admirer up on their bold note is still unknown, but we're patiently waiting for updates on the sweet bus stop saga.
