Man United's summer transfer business is expected to kick into action in the next few weeks, with the club needing to bring in reinforcements ahead of a return to the Champions League

There have been developments in a number of areas, with key movements in the takeover bid on Thursday as Sheikh Jassim appeared to take a big step towards becoming the new owner of the club.. Erik ten Hag will be keeping his sights focused on his squad, however, with a number of targets believed to be in his sights as pre-season draws closer.

However, he will be inhibited by a limited transfer budget regardless of the club's ownership, with just £120 million available should the club not be able to offload players due to FFP rules.

Mirror Football looks at the latest transfer news from around Old Trafford.

Chelsea set deadline for Mount

Chelsea are believed to have issued an ultimatum to United with regards to Mason Mount's future, with negotiations to be resolved by next week.

The Blues have rejected three bids for the 24-year-old, with United's most recent offer of a reported £55million still on the table - as they are holding out for £65m. Mauricio Pochettino is set to begin work on Monday and is believed to want clarity over transfer negotiations so plans can be put into place.

This has led to reports that Chelsea are going to push for a deal to take place, but only if they can negotiate a reasonable fee for the player.

Caicedo latest

United's chances of signing Moises Caicedo from Brighton this summer are believed to be slim, with an £100 million asking price reported for the Ecuadorian.

This could leave a move for Mount more likely, given his lower asking price and Chelsea's interest in signing the 20-year-old from the Seagulls. Despite this, contact is believed to have been made by United, with transfer bosses sounding out the midfielder's representatives with regards to a deal.

Benfica wonderkid on radar

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has outlined United's interest in 18-year-old Portuguese sensation Joao Neves, who is currently playing for Benfica.

Having forced his way into the first team in Lisbon this season, the midfielder is believed to be one of the club's brightest prospects. He made 20 appearances for the Portuguese champions, with his performances now seeing links to some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including United.

United are reported to be 'exploring' a deal, with the central midfielder capable of playing a variety of roles in the middle of the pitch as Ten Hag continues his pursuit of reinforcements.
