Liverpool's summer transfer window began with a bang, with the signing of World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister from Premier League rivals Brighton.

Since the Argentine arrived at Anfield though, the Reds' business has slowed down somewhat. That is despite Reds boss Jurgen Klopp desperately needing recruits as he looks to guide his side on a bounce back from a dreadfully disappointing season.

RB Leipzig star Dominik Szoboszlai has emerged as a surprise target in recent days, with Klopp pushing hard to sign the attacker after an impressive spell in the Bundesliga. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest Liverpool transfer news.

Reds warned Szoboszlai deal will be 'complicated'

Liverpool's move for Dominik Szoboszlai could prove to be complicated, though the Reds are keen to sign the attacker. The Hungarian has been key for both RB Leipzig and his national team, making 48 appearances for the former last season.

But The Athletic claim that any potential deal between Liverpool and Leipzig will be 'complicated'. Even chiefs at Anfield have admitted privately that it will be 'very difficult' to reach an agreement.

Liverpool chiefs did meet with the 22-year-old's representatives earlier this week to begin talks. It will involve a 'significant' outlay to sign him though but he is understood to remain high up the Reds' shopping list.

Chiesa boost delivered

Jurgen Klopp has been handed a major boost to his hopes of signing Federico Chiesa. The Italian has been one of the best forwards in Serie A in recent years and have frequently been linked with a move to Anfield.

Those links may now be given added weight, with Corriere dello Sport reporting that he is no longer in the plans of Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri. Juve are now willing to sell the attacker if an 'interesting proposal' is submitted.

Allegri's preferred 3-5-2 formation does not suit Chiesa and he is no longer 'central to the project'. The prospect of a sale is gaining momentum and Juve are ready to listen to offers in the region of £52million.

Osimhen move ruled out

Liverpool have been ruled out of making a move for Napoli star Victor Osimhen. The striker won the Serie A golden boot last season as he fired his side to their first Scudetto since Diego Maradona was at the club.

His performances have seen him emerge as a target for several top teams, including Manchester United. But one club who will certainly not be signing him is Liverpool, with Caught Offside claiming that it is unlikely a forward is signed this summer.

Klopp already has a range of options at his disposal in forward areas and his current plan is to stick with the players in place at Anfield. Liverpool may explore signing a younger striker, but Osimhen is not on their shopping list.
