Loose Women presenter Sophie Morgan has raised the plight of-those facing health struggles with disability from her hospital bed.

The TV presenter, 37, who is a paraplegic, shared a selfie to her Instagram revealing she is being treated for post-surgery complications.

Morgan, who is campaigning for disabled people’s rights, explained her latest hospital visit but remained passionate to push her progress on lobbying for better health care.

Acknowledging it takes “a lot of energy” for disabled people to fight illnesses, she wrote on Instagram: “Progress Update: Letter to PM from MP about to be circulated for signatures.

“Aviation experts consulting. Campaign launching next week. Global partnerships being established.”

“Sharing this to highlight that it takes a LOT for disabled ppl to find the energy to fight when their bodies are a battleground as is.”

Her update comes amid a dispute with British Airways as she’s claimed the company “destroyed” her £5,000 wheelchair.

She previously told how she was left feeling “unsafe” after flying into London’s Heathrow from Los Angeles, as she claims her wheelchair, which she relies on, had been “damaged”.

The former reality star shared a video which showed she was shaking because she was worried that she might not be able to get back into her chair which she relies on.

She is sending an open letter to the government urging them to take the first step towards equality in air travel for disabled people.

She is calling for the Civil Aviation Authority to be granted more power to enforce fines to hold airlines accountable for damage to wheelchairs, leaving disabled people on board for too long or not providing the right assistance.

British Airways has since told it is 'extremely sorry for Sophie's experience' and is looking to investigate what happened.

Morgan has used a wheelchair since she sustained a spinal cord injury in a road traffic accident in 2003, at the age of 18. This left her with paralysis from the chest down.

She was set to study Law before her accident but followed a different path to TV presenting after appearing on first series of BBC Two's Beyond Boundaries, which followed 11 disabled people on an expedition to traverse 220 miles across Nicaragua from its Atlantic coast to its Pacific coast.

She has since taken roles in sports coverage presenting from London for the 2012 paralympics, appeared on Britain's Missing Top Model and since 2021 as a guest panelist on Loose Women.
