The Prince of Wales has been assured that soldiers are not being put at risk in parades after expressing concern at guardsmen collapsing in the heat.

William was visibly affected after seeing three faint in 30ºC temperatures as he led the Colonel’s Review at Horse Guards Parade two weeks ago.

A week later, two more fell – at the Trooping the Colour and the Order of the Garter ceremony.

A source said: “Prince William expressed concern and was later informed about their condition.

“He made it clear he is keen to see measures in place to support teams on parade.”
