ITV has reportedly axed Gino D’Acampo's cooking show after just two episodes.

The broadcaster is said to have decided to ditch the programme as part of its latest shakeup.

Gino's Cooking Up Love aired on ITV at the end of last year, with the popular TV chef helping singletons find romance through food.

Just two episodes of the show set in Sardinia were aired.

After discussions between executives at ITV and production company Triple Brew, a decision was made to drop the programme according to sources.

"There were meaningful discussions about commissioning further episodes, but ultimately it was decided to ditch the concept.

"ITV is still working with Gino on a number of other shows this year," a source told The Sun.

Gino's Cooking Up Love saw six single people battle it out in a kitchen in the hopes of cooking up a storm to impress a potential true love.

The contestants were watched over by Gino as they all cooked alongside each other.

They were also able to venture out together on day excursions and visit some gorgeous locations across the island.

Both episodes aired at the end of 2022 and are still available to stream on ITVX.

Gino recently made his return to ITV's This Morning where he caused chaos by mocking Phillip Schofield's dramatic exit from the show.

Appearing on Tuesday, Gino made sure to reference all the drama he missed out on as he joined Holly and Dermot O'Leary in the studio.

When introducing himself and what delights he would be cooking up in the kitchen, Gino explained how he 'wasn't allowed to make anything with aubergines' before he quipped: "Everything is under control, I'm back. Anything in the news I should know?"

Dermot then looked at Holly and joked: "This is the last time we will ever see Gino on This Morning."

Earlier this year Gino "blindsided" his co-stars after announcing his sudden departure from ITV series Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip.

Gino said at the time it was impossible for him to continue the ITV travel and food show, which saw the trio visit various countries including the USA, Greece and France.

The telly personality said that his friendships with his former colleagues had nothing to do with his quitting, and that his 'strong' bond with them meant more to him than arguments over contracts.

“Last week I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road trips. The reason is very simple – nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong," he told his followers in a shock Instagram video post.

“It's just because we can't get the dates together and sometimes when we do get the dates together sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me because I have other stuff that I have to do.

“Personal problems as well because when I have to change things with my family it is very complicated and also because contracts.”

And in an interview with the Mirror following Gino's news, maitre d’ Fred said: "You just have to go with the flow in life, some things come and some things go. It was great, we enjoyed it, we had fun while it lasted and now it’s not going to happen anymore.”
