There's nothing quite like a delicious carvery - it's the ultimate comfort food. From roasties to Yorkshire puddings, meats, cauliflower cheese, and so much more, it's like being in a sweetshop, but better.

Whether you're celebrating with family, having a Sunday roast, or just trying to get over a hangover, it's so easy to get exactly what you want - and some places even let you get up for extra potatoes.

However, sometimes, you can pick up so much on your plate that you feel overfaced, yet you won't want to waste the delicious food, so you may ask for a box to place your leftovers in so you can enjoy them later when you feel hungry.

But one woman was left seriously baffled at the item she was given to take her meal home in - clingfilm.

When 18-year-old Trinity Martin and her three family members went to the Maes Knoll branch of Toby Carvery in Bristol on Sunday (June 18) she was horrified when she was given clingfilm to wrap her roast up in.

She asked for a box, and claims she was told she couldn't have one, so the family left with a "vile" cling film-wrapped roast, which was thrown into the bin when they arrived home as it was inedible.

Trinity, a trainee lash technician from Knowle Park, Bristol, said: "It looked vile. We were very shocked.

"We were laughing because everyone around us was giving weird looks.

"We thought the waitress was joking at first but she wasn't.

"We brought it home because we didn't want to be rude, but we didn't actually eat it because it looked gross."

Mitchells and Butler have been approached for a comment.
