Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill is under investigation after he was alleged to have assaulted a marina employee at Miami Beach at the weekend.
Miami-Dade Police Department is investigating after the 29-year-old wide receiver was accused of hitting a boat crew employee on the back of the head after a disagreement on Sunday.
A police spokesman confirmed the matter is being investigated as a possible assault or battery without providing further details, while the Dolphins have acknowledged the allegations.
"We are aware of the situation and have been in contact with Tyreek, his representatives and the NFL," a statement from the Dolphins read. "We will reserve further comment at this time."
Miami local radio broadcaster Andy Slater reports the crew member does not intend to press charges over the alleged incident, which occurred when "Hill's crew tried boarding a boat without permission".

However, police are reviewing footage that could show the altercation as officers review whether a crime was committed.
One-time Super Bowl champion Hill has been among the NFL's most dynamic players since being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016, forming a menacing passing attack alongside the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

That city would become his new home last year after a surprise trade to the Dolphins, and although he missed out on a second Super Bowl ring as the Chiefs lifted the championship without him, Hill enjoyed a sensational season on a personal level.
He finished behind only Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson in receiving yards, with Hill's 1,710 setting a new franchise record. His stellar performances in Southern Florida earned a place in the All-Pro first-team for the fourth time in his career, which has also included seven trips to the Pro Bowl.
Entering into his second season with the franchise, Hill is sure to remain a crucial part of head coach Mike McDaniel's offense, which has seen the Georgia native – one of the fastest players in the league's history with a 4.29-second 40-yard dash – form a dynamic tandem with wideout Jaylen Waddle.
The team is eager to build on the solid foundations of last season when they reached the playoffs and almost eliminated the much-fancied Buffalo Bills despite having a series of crucial injuries late in the season, but the accusation facing Hill is sure to be an unwelcome distraction ahead of training camp next month.
