Paris Saint-Germain wonderkid Warren Zaire-Emery has attracted plenty of interest after his breakthrough season, with Liverpool keen to snap up the 17-year-old.

After becoming PSG's youngest-ever debutant in a 5-0 win over Clermont last August, Zaire-Emery went on to make 31 appearances in all competitions. Unsurprisingly, PSG want to keep hold of the youngster but Man City have also shown interest in him, and are keen to use him as a bartering tool to sell Bernardo Silva.

French outlet RMC Sport claim that Pep Guardiola adores the player and is confident he can improve him, while Liverpool are very interested.

PSG have made Silva one of their top summer transfer targets and City are said to have set an asking price of more than €70million (£60m) for the Portuguese international. The report states that PSG have offered several players in exchange in a bid to drive down the price.

However, City have not been receptive to PSG's efforts, asking for Zaire-Emery to be included in the Bernardo deal. PSG, though, consider the midfielder 'untransferable'.

The youngster has earned high praise from his PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe, who said earlier this year: "He has personality and that's what we want here. He's 16 [now 17] and we don't care.

"He doesn't play with his number on his back. He comes and he brings what he can. Of course, he will learn, and he may make mistakes, but we are here to help him because we know he has quality."

Zaire-Emery has also been compared to England and Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, with ex-Chelsea star Joe Cole making the claim after his performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

"He's an incredible talent," Cole told BT Sport. "Physically he reminds me of Wayne Rooney, the size of his thighs at just 16. He's a man already.

"We were talking about his mindset. Usually, when you score your first goal, you lost your mind completely, but he just strolls away, cool as you like. His manager, Galtier, has said he's not far off the level of his front three [Lionel Messi,` Neymar and Kylian Mbappe]."
