Manchester City are set to retain the Premier League title and Liverpool will replace Newcastle in the top four this season, according to a Supercomputer.
Treble-winning City secured their fifth Premier League title in six years last month and the bottles of champagne have only just been emptied after winning the Champions League, and already attention is turning to next season after the fixture list for the Premier League were released.
There feels like an increasingly diminishing length of time between each season and in that break, there are no shortage of transfers to be completed across the league. The outcome of the window will greatly influence this season’s table, of course, but predictions are already being made.
It is no surprise that Pep Guardiola’s side are set to march on to another title in their era of dominance, leaving the rest of their Premier League rivals frustrated. However, the places below them in the standings may prove much more interesting.

Liverpool are tipped to rally from last season’s hugely disappointing fifth-placed finish to secure a top-two finish, with Arsenal dropping one place to third and Manchester United making up the top four, having secured an impressive top-three finish last time out.

That means Newcastle drop out of the Champions League places, down to fifth, while Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are set to make up the top six – a huge improvement on last season, but another season of underachievement appears to be on the horizon at Stamford Bridge.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham are projected to finish seventh, with Brighton, Aston Villa and West Ham set to complete the top ten – a trio of teams who are also competing in European football next campaign.
Newly-promoted clubs Luton Town and Sheffield United are predicted to go straight back down to the Championship, with Burnley tipped to finish 17th, condemning Bournemouth to relegation after last season’s admirable finish under Gary O’Neill.
That also means that Everton and Nottingham Forest will steer clear of the bottom three once more, with relative disappointment for Brentford, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Fulham who are all set to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League.
