Second Premier League fixtures 'leak' emerges after first dismissed as a hoax

A second lot of leaked Premier League fixtures have been released on social media after a hoax left supporters bamboozled.

Fans are on tenterhooks with the fixture list for the 2023/24 calendar set to be released to the public. The fixtures are kept under lock and key until then but as is the case every single year, a number of leaks have emerged.

A first went viral on Wednesday afternoon with the standout fixtures being champions Manchester City travelling to newly-promoted Burnley, whilst Newcastle were set to tackle Tottenham and Manchester United hosting Europe-bound Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

There was just one problem with that leak however with promoted Luton set to host Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Kenilworth Road. The Hatters will not play at their home stadium until at least September due to ongoing work to get it up to Premier League standard.

Now, a much more realistic leak appears to have emerged from Twitter account @NUFCITKHub. According to the leak, the first match of the season sees Luton handed another glamour tie as they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Friday, June 11.

There will then be a host of entertaining matches taking place on the following day. Liverpool travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley in the early kick-off.

Tottenham have a London derby to concern themselves with later in the day as they tackle Fulham at home. The rest of the matches put Aston Villa against Everton, Brentford take on Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest clash with Bournemouth, whilst Wolves host West Ham at Molineux.

Moving onto the first Sunday fixtures of the season, Sheffield United have a tough assignment on their return to the top-flight as they welcome Newcastle to Bramall Lane. Arguably one of the standout games of the opening weekend, the first round of fixtures is rounded off by Manchester City’s trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea.

Whilst supporters may be slightly hesitant on believing this offering given the previous hoax, the account appears to have history. They had previously shared a leaked offering of Newcastle’s 2022/23 calendar, something that proved to be spot-on.

The 2023/24 Premier League fixtures will officially be released on Thursday, June 15 at 9am BST. The new season will officially start on August 12 before concluding on May 19, 2024.

It will be the first 'normal' schedule since the 2018/19 campaign following the disruption caused by the Covid pandemic and the Qatar World Cup. Manchester City will be aiming to become the first team to ever win four consecutive Premier League titles after claiming the last three in a row.
