Roman Kemp apologised after Holly Willoughby and Dermot O'Leary stopped the This Morning interview.

The radio star suffered a wardrobe blunder mid-interview as he has the hosts in hysterics.

The 30-year-old said "I apologise" as he explained why he went for a bizarre choice of shoes, after accidently forgetting the shows he was supposed to wear.

Appeared alongside his Capital presenters Sian Welby and Chris Stark, Roman said: "To be honest the whole weekend has been a massive blur and then I forgot my shoes as I left my house this morning."

Starting to laugh, Dermot said: "You forgot your shoes but remembered them."

Roman added: "Well these were at work but I jumped into the car and genuinely forgot my shoes."

Holly replied: "Well, what's the etiquette on socks and sandals?"

"Not that!," Dermot joked as Roman said: "I apologise but it was the best I could do."

Holly went on to reassure the son on Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp, admitting: "I genuinely didn't think twice when you were wearing that. I just thought 'this is what the kids are wearing'."

The three radio presenters appeared on the show to talk about Capital's Summertime Ball at Wembley.

Talking about what the atmosphere is like backstage at Capital's Summertime Ball Roman said: "It's a good mess. I've never been backstage at a ball where something is going wrong ever and that says something.

"I've been doing this for nearly a decade, and I've never seen it go wrong. Touch wood it doesn't happen. It works like clockwork, we're the best at doing this. When artists come to our show, they lean in and go, 'Everything is ready to go!' 'Everything is done and slick'."

Roman explained that there is an extra added pressure this year as his parents, Martin and mum Shirlie Holliman, will be watching the event this time.

Kemp said: "There is the added pressure this year because my parents are coming.

"I feel like it's a weird, parents watching their kids at the local play vibe for me. I know my mum will be there with a camcorder so everything will live on forever. All mistakes are under hawk-eye."
