Graham Norton has made a rare admission about his marriage to his Scottish filmmaker husband.

The 60-year-old TV star broke his silence on his relationship with Jonathan ‘Jono’ McLeod, and shared details of the couple’s ceremony, which took place last year.

Fans of the beloved chat show host were stunned when it was revealed Graham and Jono had exchanged vows in July 2022, as the couple had kept their relationship private.

The lavish nuptials were held in Bantry House, in the Irishman’s home city of Cork, with 120 of their close friends and family in attendance.

At the time, it was reported singer Lulu had performed at the reception, with drag queen Panti Bliss on the decks.

Now, Graham has spoken about marrying later in life, and joked it was easier to commit to his vows.

“I had a joke in my speech: the vows are much more manageable. 'Till death do us part' seems more achievable at our age,” he told The Guardian.

“If you get married at 23, that's a big ask. We only have to put up with each other for a couple of decades. And then I'll be out of here,” Graham quipped.

Graham met Jono six years ago, and they exchanged vows in a ceremony in Ireland to accommodate his mother.

“I got married this year and we had our wedding party near to where my mother lives in Ireland just so she could come,” he said in an interview last year.

“She wouldn't have been well enough to come to London so West Cork it was. And it made me very happy.”

Graham, who is rumoured to be worth more than £24 million, said he was from a “generation of gays” who assumed marriage was “never going to be on the cards”, so he was over the moon to find happiness with Scottish filmmaker Jono.

“So, one, it's extraordinary that it can happen, I mean, I never gave up hope of finding the one. If it was a surprise, it was a pleasant surprise,” he shared.

Graham previously dated Trevor Patterson, but they split in 2013.
