Starfield had it's grand coming out party this week, more and more details have been revealed about the game in the time since including the PC requirements.
Starfield was blown wide open by Bethesda at the Xbox Games Showcase, and now we know almost everything the game has to offer. Things like, ship and weapon customisation, tonnes of different planets each with their own ecosystems, gravity and batch of little freak creatures, all wrapped up in those classic Bethesda RPG traits we know and love – including the ability to hoard hundreds of the same item for comedic effect.
Now that the Starfield pre-orders and Constellation Edition pre-orders are available, you should probably start looking at making sure your PC can actually run it. Thankfully we have you covered on that front with all of the necessary info below.
The following are the minimum system requirements to play Starfield as set out on the Steam store page for the game
These minimum specs don't have a description attached to them, but if we had to guess this would be the specs required to run the game at low settings while still hitting a decent frame rate.
Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thing
The following are the recommended system requirements to play Starfield as set out on the Steam store page for the game
Like the minimum specs, the recommended specs don't have a description attached to them, but if we had to guess this would be the specs required to run the game at medium settings at 30fps considering the Xbox Series X version is set to run at 30fps. You'll likely have to own a beefier machine to run the game at a full 60fps.
Obviously, we're still a few months out from launch so these could change, or – as we've seen many times before – the PC version could end up poorly optimised, so don't take these as gospel just yet.
