McDonald's is launching a brand-new McFlurry just in time for the blazing summer heat.

After months of anticipation, UK fans can finally get their hands on the new menu item this June. And it's a big one: McDonald's is introducing a Lotus Biscoff McFlurry.

The-limited edition ice cream will be available in restaurants from June 21 - ready for another scorching hot summer.

So what can we expect? "The deeply caramelized tasting biscuit is swirled onto the soft serve McFlurry ice cream giving it that extra crunch," according to the hotly-anticipated announcement.

What's more, everyone can enjoy the biscuit lover's dream, as the McFlurry will be available in all McDonald's restaurants across the UK and Ireland, to the collective relief of fans.

For months, social media users have been begging the fast food chain to introduce the popular flavour in the UK.

Back in March, an eager fan tweeted: "Lotus Biscoff McFlurry needs to make an appearance in the UK."

Elsewhere, an impressed customer begged: "A Lotus Biscoff McFlurry in the Zagreb McDonald's last night @McDonaldsuk pleaseeeeeeeee at this to the menu in the UK."

And the announcement has gone down a treat, as fans can't wait for the much-demanded collaboration.

"Omg, definitely trying this! I LOVE Biscoff!" said one ice cream lover.

Another said: "This looks amazing." Someone else enthused: "McFlurry of dreams that."

Luckily for excited foodies, the wait is nearly over. Keen to give the people what they want, McDonald's is also hosting a free taster lunch break. On Friday, June 16, fans who visit Queen's Stone, London from 11:30am – 2pm can try the McFlurry before it goes on sale. Simply turn up and enjoy the offer, which is available while stocks last.

In the meantime, those looking for a cool treat will have to enjoy the chain's current McFlurry range - which features a number of recent additions including the Wispa McFlurry.

Additionally, ice cream lovers can flock to Harvester for their summer fix, as the popular family restaurant is marking its 40th birthday with the return of the classic Lemon Blizzard dessert.

The good news doesn't stop there, either.
