Missing a parcel delivery can be extremely frustrating - especially when you've waited weeks for it to arrive. But not only is it infuriating for the customer, it can cost the driver time and money and they might not be paid for the failed delivery attempt.

Wanting to help his fellow USPS workers out, one delivery driver noted down a "hazard alert" at a particular address so others knew what they were up against before reaching the door. It reads: "Hazard Alert - Dog looks like a pony. Hazard type - dog or animal."

Commenting on the alert on Reddit, another delivery driver wrote: "Made me laugh but also extremely paranoid." While most users couldn't help but laugh at the driver's warning, others tried to guess the breed of the dog.

One more user added: "Nothing more scary then a vicious pony dog."

It comes after Paul Conway, 61, bought some sunglasses online but was beaten to the door by his Labrador, Mazie, when the courier arrived.

Paul, who lives with his wife Jane, welcomed eight-year-old Mazie in to their home when she was just a tiny puppy.

Explaining how she isn't quite skilled enough to unlock the door herself, Paul added: "The courier knocked on the door and my wife opened it to receive the package.

"But she was behind the door still so they just took a photo of our dog."
