Thiago Silva has hit out at a publication who mocked Enzo Fernandez following Chelsea 's defeat in Germany.

The Blues suffered a narrow loss at Borussia Dortmund, who will take a 1-0 first-leg lead to west London thanks to Karim Adeyemi, who bagged a sensational solo goal in the second half. Adeyemi's blistering pace saw him go the length of the pitch before rounding the goalkeeper.

Dortmund broke quickly following a Chelsea corner, with Fernandez the furthest man back. He was unable to go with Adeyemi, the Argentine was left trailing by the winger's pace, which has seen Britain's most expensive player come in for criticism - that has not sat well with Silva.

South American publication TNT Sports posted an image of the Chelsea midfielder alongside the caption: "Call the Uber! Enzo Fernandez is looking for Adeyemi so far." Silva has expressed his anger by replying to the post: "Lack of respect, huh!!! Be more serious with your work."

Chelsea dominated for long periods in Germany, but couldn't find a goal with some of their efforts coming off the woodwork, whilst they also had one cleared off the line. Kai Havertz was back in his homeland and felt his side performed well, but was frustrated that they failed to deal with Adeyemi.

He said: "It’s frustrating to lose because I thought we played quite well. We came here to win the game, or at least draw, but in the end we have lost and it’s just really frustrating for us. Their goal was a mistake from us and we knew that Adeyemi is a fast player, especially on counter-attacks. So that was disappointing."

Chelsea are struggling domestically having won just two of their last 14 games. They've failed to score twice in a game since November but Europe is the stage where they've shown their best football. Graham Potter is certainly being questioned, but the Blues boss had few complaints with their performance.

"Overall, we were pleased with the performance for big parts of the game," he stated. "It is complicated away from home in the Champions League, in a hostile environment against a team that's in a good moment. It was an even first half, we managed the game quite well with good opportunities to counter-attack and we hit the bar.

"Then in the second half apart from the one decisive action where we didn't do well enough, we were the dominant, better team and created some good chances. We needed a little bit of luck maybe and a little bit of final execution. We deserved a goal but have to keep going. It's half-time. It's a tight tie. We look forward to Stamford Bridge."
