People are only just realising they've been using measuring jugs all wrong

The internet has proven that we've been doing a selection of things wrong in our lifetime - from using daily equipment to undergoing efficient cleaning hacks. A new discovery, however, seemingly tops the list and has left people flabbergasted.

Taking to popular video-streaming service TikTok, a man was in utter disbelief after a video demonstrating a new method claimed that we've been using measuring jugs all wrong. Keen to try out the new method first-hand, a man - who boasts more than 1.5 million followers on account @that40yearguy - shared a video, which has since surpassed 2.1 million views.

The TikTok user has raked in his large following after demonstrating popular life hacks, which have skyrocketed in views online.

In one of his latest videos, he put to bed a video, which claimed we've been using the wrong side of a measuring jug completely.

The original video demonstrated that people should pour water out of the jug's handle rather than through the poor spout.

Reacting to the original video, which claimed '[we've] all been doing it wrong', the TikTok user was stunned.

He said: "You're telling me for 40 years I used a measuring cup and spilt stuff everywhere I could have been doing this.

"Ain't no way!

"Alright let's give this a shot - you can clearly see whenever I mix stuff up in my backpack sprayer, I tend to spill - so let's try this out."

After demonstrating the hack successfully, the TikTok used laughed and shook his head in disbelief.

Since posting, the man's video has raked in over 750 comments on his video.

Taking to the comment section, one person questioned: "But there's a front pour spout?"

The TikTok user replied: "That spout is trash."

"I learn more from you than anyone I've ever met," someone else said.

A different user gushed: "You're a hero."
