With the Team of the Season (TOTS) promo speeding towards its conclusion, another promo is set to replace it in Ultimate Team in the coming weeks.
The TOTS promo has been running in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team for nearly six weeks, with EA releasing some incredible squads during that time including the Premier League TOTS, La Liga TOTS and Ligue 1 TOTS. TOTS Award Winners and an Ultimate TOTS squad are set to be released later this week featuring the best players from without the TOTS promo, but when the promo comes to its end, a fan-favourite event will reportedly make its return to FUT.
Shapeshifters is a promo that tends to enter FUT after the end of the footballing season, with the FIFA 22 version of the promo producing some of the best FUT cards we've ever seen. In FUT 22, we received four Shapeshifters squads, including a host of FUT Hero items with position changes, similar to the Rulebreakers promo that was released at the beginning of the FUT 23 cycle.

FIFA 23 Shapeshifters release date
With the TOTS Award Winners and Ultimate TOTS promo expected to be released on Friday, June 9 at 6pm BST/ 1pm EDT/ 10am PDT, it was always expected that the Shapeshifters promo wouldn't be the next squad released. And, EA has now confirmed the release date for the Shapeshifters promo, with a FUT loading screen claiming the Shapeshifters Campaign will kick off on Friday, June 16.

FIFA 23 Shapeshifters predictions
Based on past Shapeshifters releases, we can expect the promo to last a few weeks in FUT 23, with four different squads released in FIFA 22. Included in the FUT 22 promo were heavily-boosted FUT Hero items, with the main theme of the promo being position changes.
The lowest-rated FUT 22 Shapeshifters item was 91 overall, showing just how good the players released will be. Franck Ribery and Abedi Pele both received 98-rated cards in FUT 22, while Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were both awarded 99-rated cards.
