A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a woman was left in a "critical condition" when she was stabbed outside her home.

Police rushed to a property in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, yesterday evening at 6.30pm following reports of a fight between a woman and a youth.

But when officers reached the scene of the incident, along with local ambulance services, they found the woman, in her 20s, had suffered serious injuries.

An air ambulance was also in attendance and medics rushed her to hospital but she remains in a “critical condition”.

“However, I would ask anyone who saw what happened or has information that could help to come forward. I would particularly urge anyone with mobile phone, doorbell or dashcam footage to contact police.

“Anything you can provide, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could assist us.”
