Disgraced Theranos fraudster Elizabeth Holmes is set to begin her 11-year prison sentence today with her new inmates - which will include a reality TV star.

The former CEO, 39, will be swapping her huge $9million California mansion, which she shares with her husband Billy Evans and their two children, for the minimum security Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas.

She has twice made successful appeals to delay her sentence but a judge last week rejected her most recent one and will be due to report to the jail on Tuesday.

Holmes had been out on bail since she was indicted on fraud charges in 2018 over her role as the head of the failed blood-testing firm.

She was convicted in November 2022 on four counts of defrauding investors and sentenced to 11 years and three months in jail.

Holmes raised nearly $1billion from investors including media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Oracle co-founder Larry Elision.

Mr Murdoch is owed $125million under the restitution order after the blood tests never came close to the way she had claimed.

The convicted fraudster has spent her last days of freedom going to the zoo, playing on the beach with her two-year-old son William and her newborn daughter Invicta.

Holmes, who was found guilty of defrauding investors in her blood-testing start-up, was living a luxury lifestyle with private jets, flash cars, security and assistants on call 24/7.

However, soon she will be forced to get up at 6am each day with breakfast at 6.30am, lunch at 10.30am, and dinner 4.30pm.

Inmates are given an hour for each meal and will have food options of burgers, hotdogs, tacos, chicken and macaroni.

Lights out are at 10.30pm but on weekends, they are given an additional hour, according to a handbook for the prison.

All inmates are expected to work, and earn between 12 cents and $1.15 an hour for their jobs, which will involve preparing food and factory work.

It is part of the work-focused program that requires all inmates to hold a job for a minimum of 90 days.

The prison is home to more than 500 inmates, most of whom are in jail for non-violent offences, and sits on 37 acres.

Inmates can face disciplinary measures for a number of actions for not keeping their cell room neat, or sleeping past the early designated wake-up hour.

Holmes will be limited to physical contact with her husband and young children but she will be able to speak to her family via video calls.

She will be allowed visitors during weekends and holidays.

Holmes will be in the same prison as Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah, who is serving a six-and-a-half year prison sentence for wire fraud.

Shah was sentenced in February after taking part in a telemarketing scam that robbed vulnerable Americans out of millions of dollars.

Meanwhile, former inmates of the jail have included January 6 rioter Jenna Ryan who served 60 days at the facility.

She took to Twitter to reveal to her followers she watched "a lot of TV and ate bologna sandwiches" during her time there.

The former inmate said last year that "I was really really blessed because I met really great people.

"I prayed every day, I read the Bible, got close to God, watched a lot of TV, read a lot of books."

Hot Pockets heiress Michelle Janavs, one of their parents caught up in the Operation Varsity Blues scandal, was also a former inmate.

Ms Janvas was sentenced to five months in 2020 for paying college admissions worker Rick Singer $100,000 to have an officer correct her two daughters' ACT exam answers.

But as the fraudster starts her new life in jail, it's a far-cry from the circles she was use to socialising in.

The start-up founder, who was once labelled the "next Steve Jobs", was said to be the world's youngest self-made billionaire.

However, as she starts her time in prison, her fall from grace has been as rapid as her descent.
