Ant McPartlin was pictured sporting a bruised face after his misfortunate fall during the first live Britain's Got Talent semi-final on Monday night.

The beloved telly star was presenting the semi-final alongside Declan Donnelly, and was about to congratulate former BGT winners Diversity on a cracking performance.

However, as he hopped on stage, he managed to skid across the floor and landed with a huge smack onto the hard surface, leaving his shocked co-host - and the BGT judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli - in fits of laughter.

Despite his bruised body - and no doubt, bruised ego - Ant soldiered on and presented the rest of the show alongside Dec, but viewers were worried about the injuries he could’ve sustained in the horror fall.

The 47-year-old was then spotted leaving Hammersmith Apollo in west London on Monday night, shortly after filming had finished, in the back of a taxi.

While he looked in good spirits, Ant was sporting a huge bruise on his chin, suggesting he hit his face in the fall.

He had changed out of his smart black suit for the live semi-final into a casual blue shirt and dark trousers, but there was no hiding the injury to his face.

After outcry over his fall on social media, BGT tweeted out an update on the presenter to reassure worried fans.

“Don't worry, Ant's fine!” they wrote on the BGT official Twitter account.

Viewers were shocked when Ant dramatically fell on stage, but his co-stars were in hysterics over his antics, with the judges having to hide their laughter.

When asked by Dec if he was alright, Ant cheekily replied: “I wet myself and farted at the same time!”

After seeing his fall replayed in slow motion, Ant quipped: “I'm making a claim! That was a very slippy stage.”

“You better lawyer up,” Dec joked.

Despite the drama, singer Amy Lou and professional dancer Musa Motha were voted through to the live final.
