EastEnders will air heartbreaking scenes next week - as both Jay and Lexi struggle with the loss of Lola.
Ben has put his sole focus on Lexi following Lola's sad passing, but she is finding it tough to open up about what she's going through. He decides to take her for ice cream, and get her excited about seeing Callum but all she wants is to be back in bed and go home and see Jay. Callum urges Ben to talk to her about her mum and let her open up about her grief.
Alongside Jay, Ben sits down with Lola and they encourage her to talk about her mother. She finally opens up to them about how she is feeling, but there's no doubt that both of them are clearly struggling.

Surrounded by his friends, they try and reassure Jay things will get better but it's obvious he is having trouble with his all-consuming grief.
It comes after EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw hinted that Jay will develop a "friendship" with another character as he grieves.

Chris said: "They all pull together and are there for each other in the immediate future, but that won’t last forever. Jay will find friendship with another key person. I don’t think any of them will be the same again. 'Billy (Perry Fenwick), Jay, Lexi (Isabella Brown), Honey (Emma Barton), it’ll obviously have devastating consequences for the family.

She’s asked Jay to make sure that he always talks to Lexi about her, she’s put things in place for the immediate future. But that may not last forever. It’ll be a difficult process and obviously it’s a sad ending for Lola, she won’t be there for the rest of her family."
Lola was taken home from the hospital last week as she wanted to spend her last days at home with her family.
Next week, Lola begins to suffer seizures, and the nurse explains this is the beginning of the end. By the end of the week, Lola has passed away in tragic and heartbreaking scenes, leaving the family devastated.
