A woman who says she is nothing but a considerate motorist was stunned by an angry note slapped on her car - and says she fears she's being watched.

Lauren Ball is always careful where she parks in Denton in Tameside, Greater Manchester.

After leaving her motor on a side road near to her house, a scribbled message was left under her windscreen wiper.

Due to double yellow lines outside her property, the woman has to leave her vehicle on the streets nearby, the Manchester Evening News report.

But on Thursday last week a furious locals told her they are 'fed up' of her thinking she can 'park where she wants'.

A picture of the note received hundreds of responses after being shared to the Denton and Haughton Green Community Group on Facebook.

Others started commenting saying they had faced the same problem.

The note read: "We are getting fed up of you thinking you can park where you want! You don't live on Becker Close at all. You live on the front, you don't park on here. You need to use your car park. You use other people's parking space when they need them."

Lauren, who had the note left on her car's windscreen, said: "I live on a main road with double yellows so unfortunately my only option is to park on side roads. What's frustrating is I'm always really considerate of other people.

"I found the quietest road around me, I don't park in anyone's space, in front of anyone's house or in anyone's way, I also pay my tax.

"The person has clearly been watching me, so if they had approached me instead of writing anonymous note they would understand this.

"Since it was put in the Denton and community chat it's come to my attention that I am not the first person that has had this note. A lady who lives on that street had her friend over and he also received the note."

The post was met with outrage on social media, with one person commenting: "Unbelievable!! You pay your car tax you can park where you want as long as your not blocking anywhere."

Another wrote: "It’s amazing how many people don’t have the slightest clue about parking rights outside their homes."
