A woman has told how she is unsure if she wants her future mother-in-law at her wedding as she does not seem bothered about the plans - and actively ignores her if she tries to talk about it.

The bride is set to be getting married in April next year and the plans are well underway but her future in-law does not want to hear anything about it and has even claimed she might not remember the plans if she was told.

Shortly before the pair got engaged, the woman's future sister-in-law also announced she would be getting married and the relative seems much more interested in their big day - sparking a row.

Taking to Reddit, she added her future in-law was worried she would forget where she heard about the plans and accidentally tell the sister-in-law who could use them for her wedding.

In the post, the woman, who remained anonymous, explained: "Now, my partner’s sister got engaged shortly before we did, and she is currently planning her wedding for the end of this year, which is great. However, my future mother-in-law will only listen to my sister-in-law's wedding plans and not mine.

"She will literally cover her ears and run out of the room when I have tried to tell her about my wedding plans. She says that my ideas are “too good” and she’s worried that she’ll forget where she heard them and suggest them to my sister-in-law for her wedding accidentally."

She added that her partner has tried to talk to his mother about the bahviour and said that if his wedding is important to his mum then she should remember the plans.

"She still won’t listen and it’s getting to the point where we are no longer including her in any plans for our wedding, and perhaps even the wedding itself if she keeps this behaviour up," stated the author.

However, in response, some people have commented their support for the in-law and said it sounds like she has a genuine concern.

One person wrote: "She has a legitimate concern. Let your sister-in-law have her wedding and then start including your mother-in-law in the planning."

While another stated: "From my perspective, that sounds like a genuine concern she has."
