Paddy McGuinness enjoyed a relaxing night in as his ex-wife Christine McGuinness announced her Instagram break.

The Top Gear presenter, 49, took to his social media to share a little update on his evening plans with his followers.

He told fans: "Night in in. Toasted @modernbaker superloaf with Marks and Spencer chicken rillette. Heaven".

The star seemed pleased with his meal-for-one as he spent a night away from his hectic schedule.

It comes as Christine, 35, revealed she was 'going back to basics' by taking time away from her social media.

"In a world of algorithms, hashtags and followers, I really want to embrace the true importance of human connection and go back to basics for a bit."

She continued: "P.S.. Im not really sure what I think about the whole ‘social media silence’ announcement thing but I have lots of lovely followers on here who check in on me daily and I don’t want to worry anyone whilst I have a little quiet time.

"I am very happy and healthy, I’m just ready to embrace switching off, being present and living low key for a while."

Fans immediately rushed to support her decision and discussed the importance of a digital detox.

"Yes, I do this. It good for the mind and the body," one user posted while another said: "Enjoy you time."

A follower said: "It's good to switch off sometimes.... enjoy."
