A man has massacred three of his family members and three dogs before posting about it on Facebook.

Jeremy Lake Bailey, 34, took to Facebook to boast about slaughtering his wife, in-laws, and even their beloved dogs before demanding his own death by firing squad.

The blood-soaked crime scene unfolded on May 19 at the family's home in Layton, Utah.

The victims, identified as 36-year-old Anastasia Stevens, her father Don Stevens, 73, and stepmother Becky Stevens, 61, were allegedly shot to death by Bailey himself.

The man then reportedly took to his wife's Facebook account to post the message: "MASSACRE SUICIDE."

Bailey callously mentioned that he had also taken the lives of three of the family's four beloved dogs in this bloodbath.

The disturbing Facebook post read: "Jeremy Bailey JUST KILLED EVERYONE Becky Stevens Don Stevens AND 3 OF THE 4 DOGS 1832 EAST GENTILE STREET LAYTON."

The online confession left readers and authorities stunned.

Bailey then called the Layton Police Department brazenly confessing to the triple homicide of his wife and in-laws, who were visiting at the time.

With an eerie prediction, he claimed it would be a "murder-suicide", but officers managed to keep him on the line, and rushed to the home.

When the police finally arrived they convinced Bailey to exit and immediately arrested him.

Overheard muttering, "I can't believe I did it," the suspect appeared visibly agitated.

He also reportedly told them he would rather face the death penalty and spend the rest of his life in prison.

Bailey also reportedly asked if death by firing squad was still in use.

The police said: "A motive for these crimes has not been determined yet, and the cause of death is still being investigated."

Bailey, now behind bars at David County jail, faces charges including aggravated murder, discharge of a firearm, and even cruelty to animals for his actions against the family's dogs.

Utah's state code typically implements lethal injection as the method of execution for murder cases, but in rare circumstances, such as Bailey's case, an exception under Section 1(a) allows for death by firing squad.
