Manchester United continued their top four push on Sunday ahead of an important few weeks in multiple competitions.

Erik ten Hag's team claimed a 2-0 victory away to Leeds United on Sunday to ensure they ended the weekend in third place in the Premier League. They had been frustrated by Michael Skubala's team just days earlier, coming back from 2-0 down to rescue a point at home, but the win at Elland Road leaves them seven points clear of fifth-place Tottenham.

United take on Barcelona in Europe on Thursday, while off-field matters are dominated by a potential takeover and the fate of forward Mason Greenwood. Here are the latest lines from around Old Trafford.

Greenwood frustration

Mason Greenwood is unlikely to play for Manchester United this season, as an internal investigation from the club continues. The academy graduate was suspended by the club in 2022 after being charged with one count of attempted rape, a count of assault and repeatedly engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour.

Greenwood denied all charges. He had been due to stand trial, only for the charges to be dropped earlier this month after key witnesses withdrew and new evidence came to light.

United confirmed they are conducting their own process with regards to the England international, who has not featured in a first-team game since January 2022. The Daily Star reports that the internal probe could go on for a number of months, casting doubt on the likelihood of Greenwood featuring before the end of the Premier League season on May 28.

Erik ten Hag's team will be without a number of players for the first leg. Marcel Sabitzer is unavailable thanks to a suspension picked up while playing for parent club Bayern Munich, while Lisandro Martinez is also banned and others - including midfield star Christian Eriksen - out through injury.

Casemiro will be available despite his domestic suspension, though, while a number of youngsters were put through their paces in training. Ten Hag has been left with some big decisions, though.

Qatar takeover latest

With just days left before the deadline for Man Utd takeover bids, the Emir of Qatar faces a decision. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is an owner of Paris Saint-Germain through Qatar Sports Investment, and questions have been asked over the possibility of him taking over United without relinquishing his involvement with PSG.

Bids for United are due in on Friday, though that is only said to be a 'soft' deadline which could allow parties to take a little longer if needed. There are also reported to be interested parties from the United States and Saudi Arabia, while Ineos chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe has expressed an interest in the bidding process.

The emir was expected to attend the French champions' European clash with Bayern Munich on Tuesday. PSG were handed a rematch of the 2020 Champions League final after finishing second in their group behind Benfica.
