A time traveller has claimed to have arrived back from the future after being sacked from his job - and showed matching tattoos with his younger self as proof.

Mike Williams says he is from 2047 where, until recently, he worked for a firm creating innovative technologies such as virtual reality which he says will be popular from 2025.

However when he asked to become a shareholder in the firm as thanks for his inventions - such as a time machine - he was instead fired.

Fuming, he collected together all his technology and sports results to 2030, activated the time machine and returned to 2022 to meet his younger self.

In a video posted on YouTube channel Apex TV, Young Mike said he was at first terrified when he found the older man waiting in his room when he finished university for the day.

But he was swayed when he showed him a matching tattoo of a childhood cat scrawled on his wrist.

Old Mike said in the video: “Every word you hear is the absolute truth and it’s a part of our lives - our name is Mike Williams, yes you heard it right - our name.

“You may think we are father and son and I named my son after me or that we’re brothers but everything is much more complicated than you think.

“We are the same person, just 25 years apart. I came to 2022 from 2047.

“From my childhood I love engineering and innovative technologies in general. The year 2028 was crucial in my life as I was invited for an interview to a new startup company which was supposed to work in the field of innovative technologies.

“In 2042 our company started working on the most revolutionary equipment in the history of the world, which was a time machine. We called it Time AWIX 200.

“By 2045 the time machine was almost ready and we had started experimenting, first on pieces of meat, later on animals, mainly mice. We were only able to travel to the past, the future was inaccessible to us.

“On December 28 2046 I had a serious conflict with the head of our company. In response to my request to become a shareholder I was told I was fired and I had to leave in ten days and all my inventions belong to the company, not me.

“On January 4 2047 I made the most difficult decision of my life. I…decided to come back to 2022 and give all I had to the young me and thus change my whole future.”

Old Mike added when he used the time machine he activated it to self destruct, meaning no one can follow him into the past.

He and Young Mike are now working to recreate it in 2023 and have vowed to show the results soon.

Young Mike added: “[It] may sound like a fairytale but I am fully convinced it is absolutely true. I got all the answers to my questions and all the evidence.

“The thing is we are the same person. Yes, yes, I know it sounds weird

“The story begins when one day I came home from the university. I saw Old Mike sitting in my armchair, I was terribly scared. I wanted to run away when he addressed me with my nickname which only my family members call me. I just froze in surprise

“He’s me, simply from the future.”
