It may feel like the end of Arsenal's Premier League title charge, but Mikel Arteta has no time to waste in his bid to bring the glory days back to the Emirates.

After losing 3-0 at home to high-flying Brighton on Sunday, the Gunners are now four points adrift of Manchester City, who can win their third successive title next weekend. With Champions League football already secured, Arteta and co's focus can be on finishing the strongly and starting the upcoming summer transfer window with a bang.

The Arsenal manager wants to bolster his squad with a range of big-name and bargain signings, although some Gunners players will have to make way as part of the reshuffle.

Here's a round-up of the latest news from the Emirates.

Four players could leave

Mikel Arteta has a list of five transfer targets ahead of the summer window - and knows that four players could leave. Mirror Football understands that Arteta is ready to be ruthless in his rebuild in order to ensure that Arsenal can challenge for the title again next season.

Midfielder Granit Xhaka, who's a target for Bayer Leverkusen, loan-outed striker Florian Balogun, left-back Kieran Tierney and academy graduate Emile Smith Rowe are all on the chopping block in anticipation of another huge summer at the Emirates. Their departures could make room in both the budget and dressing room for Arteta to get his hands on five new faces.

Doc offers Martinelli injury update

Gabriel Martinelli may well feature again for Arsenal this season, despite being on the end of a "disgraceful" tackle during Sunday's defeat to Brighton. The Brazilian winger, 21, went off after a challenge by Moises Caicedo, who club doctor Gary O'Driscoll slammed following the game.

Filmed speaking to fans on his way out of the Emirates, O'Driscoll said of Martinelli's condition: "[He's] sore. Terrible foul, disgraceful foul. He's a bit sore but he should be okay." There was, though, less positive news on left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko, who recently joined William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu on the sidelines.

Kroenke's post-match gesture

Josh Kroenke went to visit Mikel Arteta after Arsenal lost to Brighton in a bid to help the Gunners boss recover from suffering a likely fatal title blow. As reported by the Evening Standard, the Arsenal co-chairman was in attendance at the Emirates alongside Sean McVay, head coach of the LA Rams, an NFL team also owned by Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE).

Like Arteta, McVay was a young coach when the Kroenke's hired him back in 2017. He didn't take long to impress, guiding the Rams to the Super Bowl final a year later. After being backed by KSE with multiple signings, the Rams won the Super Bowl in 2021. Josh and dad Stan now hope to repeat that same route to successs with Arteta.
