A man has crashed his car through the front of a hospital after being fed up of waiting over two years for treatment.

Hugo Lopes stuck two pages of documents about his colon condition on the driver’s window, before smashing his Mercedes through the entrance.

Hospital workers were shocked by the loud noise made by the car smashing into the building.

Luckily no one was hurt in the crash at the Hospital de Cascais, near Lisbon in Portugal on Sunday, May 7.

Mr Lopes claimed he has been overlooked by the hospital for treatment.

He said: “I would like to know why they systematically discriminate against me at this hospital.

“I have been asking for help for two-and-a-half years. It's a titanic effort, made worse four months ago by a hernia.

“I’ve been jumping from consultation to consultation, from the family doctor to the Cascais Hospital, including a consultation postponed due to a computer error.”

He added that he has been unable to defecate normally since undergoing a haemorrhoid operation at a private clinic in November 2020.

Mr Lopes explained that he has also been to three different private hospitals to seek a solution for the problem.

He said he previously went to the A&E department of the public hospital on Monday, May 1 when he was allegedly prescribed sodium chloride by a doctor.

Mr Lopes stated: “I was admitted at 8am and my temperature was only 34.5.

“When they attended me and prescribed sodium chloride, I panicked and immediately left.

“My trust in the medical profession is at zero. I've had eight exams in private and they tell me I don't have any physical problems. But I feel like I'm dying.

“I'm not interested in living with this suffering either.”
