Two women charged with manslaughter and neglect in death of girl, 2

Two women have been charged following the death of a two-year-old girl.

The pair have been charged with manslaughter and neglect, cops said.

Masie Lomax-Newton died in December 2021. Greater Manchester Police subsequently launched an investigation.

In a statement issued today, the force said 29-year-old Emma Lomax-Newton and 51-year-old Cindy Molyneux have been charged in connection with her death.

Both have been charged with neglect and manslaughter.

Both women have been bailed. They will appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on June 7.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Emma Lomax-Newton, and Cindy Molyneux, have both been charged with neglect and manslaughter.

"They have been bailed to appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court on June 7, 2023.

"These charges come as the result of an investigation into the death of two-year-old Masie Lomax-Newton in December 2021."
