Prince William stunned royal fans as he delivered a heartfelt speech dedicated to King Charles and the key workers of Britain after the Coronation Concert this evening.

The Prince of Wales took to the stage with a passionate message and paid tribute to his father's list of accomplishments, from passionately campaigning on the environment to changing the lives of one million disadvantaged young people by creating the Prince’s Trust Awards.

He also added that the late Queen would be "a proud mother" after the nation came together to witness the most diverse and inclusive Coronation in history.

However, viewers were quick to spot that the heir to the throne did not mention his stepmother Camilla at all during his speech.

Royal insiders were surprised William, 40, did not mention the new Queen but sources said the heir was committed to "paying tribute to his father’s life of service", on his coronation weekend.

To huge cheers, William last night thanked the 20,000 in attendance in the grounds of Windsor Castle, including thousands of heroes from the coronavirus pandemic.

After dropping in a dad joke in reference to headliner Lionel Richie, promising not to "go on all night long", he said: “I want to say a few words about my father, and why I believe this weekend is so important.

"As my grandmother said when she was crowned, Coronations are a declaration of our hopes for the future.

"And I know she’s up there, fondly keeping an eye on us. She would be a proud mother."

Thousands of communities will continue to cap of an incredible Coronation weekend on Monday by joining the Big Help Out, a project to get people involved in local community projects as a legacy of the King’s crowning and heralding in a new era.

Millions basked in the sunshine when attending street parties across the country on Sunday afternoon before the coronation concert took place in the evening.

It was a star-studded line-up for the celebratory gig, with Take That, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie all performing, but it was a 13-year-old girl who captured all the attention.

Blind pianist Lucy Illingworth won Channel 4's show, The Piano, in March and was given a coveted spot to perform on stage at the Coronation Concert.

Lucy performed a rendition of Bach's Prelude in C Major for the Royal Family and her impressive talent clearly made many people emotional - including Camilla, who appeared close to tears while watching.

The King and Queen watched closely and gave the 13-year-old a round of applause when she finished her note-perfect performance.

"I commit myself to serve you all. "King, Country and Commonwealth. God Save The King!"
