When Prince William married his university girlfriend Kate Middleton back in 2011, very few people had heard of up-and-coming actress Meghan Markle.
The talented hopeful was trying to find her big break, earning herself a handful of minor roles on the big and small screens.
But despite being on the other side of the Atlantic and having no ties to the royal family at that point, she didn’t escape the huge occasion that was the future king’s wedding.
Like millions of people around the world, she saw the photos and read report after report about the big day.
And she even wrote about the fuss surrounding the historic occasion on her lifestyle blog The Tig, and her comments were very interesting.

She wrote: "Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power.
"For those of you unfamiliar with the '80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength.
"We're definitely not talking about Cinderella here.

William and Kate tied the knot at Westminster Abbey in April 2010, saying I Do in front of 1,900 guests including politicians, world leaders and celebrities.
There was huge interest in the details of their wedding, especially the bride’s dress.
Kate wore a stunning Alexandra McQueen dress and carried a bouquet of myrtle, lily-of-the-valley, sweet William, ivy, myrtle and hyacinth.
While Kate and her aides tried to keep the designer details secret, the name Sarah Burton was leaked two months before the wedding.

"A fashion source said that the dress will be a combination of Middleton's own design ideas and Burton's deep knowledge and understanding of high fashion.
"Middleton had hoped to keep Burton's name quiet until the wedding."
Speaking on Channel 5 documentary Secrets of the Royal Dressmakers, royal expert Katie Nicholl discussed how much the leak upset the future Duchess of Cambridge.
She said: "Behind the scenes, I think that caused tears at the Palace because Kate had done everything she could to keep the wedding dress a secret."
