While Arsenal are unlikely to give up their Premier League title dream until the very end, there is also a focus on the upcoming summer's transfer business.

Mikel Arteta's side can stay in contention at the top with victory over Newcastle on Sunday, while a point would mathematically guarantee a top two finish. If the Gunners are to challenge at the top next season, though, they may need to make further additions to their squad.

There's plenty to focus on ahead of the Newcastle trip, both on and off the pitch. Here are the latest lines from around North London.

Chelsea handed Mount advice

Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has urged the Blues to keep hold of Mason Mount despite interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. The England international is out of contract in 2024, prompting suggestions the Blues might cash in.

"Chelsea should try their best to keep Mount," Petit told Boylesports. "I know he’s been linked with some big clubs, but taking away this season, he has been remarkable and he’s grown up with the club.

"He was developing into a brilliant midfield player, with goals and assists, and I think this year has been a transition year for Chelsea - so don’t put everything in a rubbish bin.

"He’s one of the last English players in the dressing room, too, which is very important for the fans. Chelsea should not make a stupid decision to sell Mount, he should stay at Chelsea."

Inside Arsenal's old stadium

Arsenal played their final game at Highbury in 2006, moving to the Emirates Stadium ahead of the following season. The Gunners waved goodbye to their home with a 4-2 victory over Wigan, and the grounds have changed a lot in the 17 years since.

What was once Highbury is now home to luxury flats, just a stone's throw from the new ground. The exterior of the east and west stands can still be seen by those passing by the ground, but so can the new Highbury Square apartment complex.

Properties at the old Highbury fetch as much as £800,000, with garden areas where the pitch once stood. The development still carries a noticeable Arsenal presence, though, despite the club moving to new surroundings.

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is due to return to the Emirates Stadium for the final game of the season if the club are still in title contention. The Gunners will round off their campaign at home to Wolves, but will need Manchester City to drop points if they are to still be in with a shot at glory.

Wenger made a long-awaited return to the ground on Boxing Day, taking his seat to watch a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over West Ham. It was the first time the Frenchman had come back since ending his 22-year spell in charge of the Gunners in 2018.

According to The Mail, Arsenal will invite Wenger to the season finale if a title win is still possible. Before then, the Gunners need to take as many points as possible from games against Newcastle, Brighton and Nottingham Forest while hoping rivals City slip up.
