Harry 'invited' to Buckingham Palace lunch but he might not accept olive branch

Prince Harry has been invited to lunch at Buckingham Palace after King Charles' Coronation today, it's been claimed.

Relations between the Duke of Sussex and the rest of the Royal Family are at an all-time low, but it's believed he has been offered a surprise olive branch.

Harry, who stepped down from being a senior working royal, is attending the Coronation on his own as wife Meghan Markle has decided to stay at home with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

He was determined to attend the big day, with insiders saying Harry was cutely aware that the historic occasion will be "pretty much the most important day" of the King's life.

Organisers are reportedly keen to make sure there aren't any public rows on the big day by keeping him separated, but he has reportedly been invited to a behind closed doors luncheon.

It's believed Harry will be sat next Princess Eugenie's husband Jack Brooksbanks and Princess Alexandra - the cousin of the late Queen, who hasn’t had a working royal engagement in a decade.

He is due to be seated in the third row, meaning he will be two rows back from brother Prince William and sister-in-law the Princess of Wales.

A source told the Sun : "There were discussions that the seating could be arranged on line of succession. But that would have put fifth-in-line Harry front and centre — and with William and Kate.

"Instead the decision was working royals only at the front and work back from there. Harry will be a long way from his father."

Harry has been banned from wearing ceremonial robes and will be wearing a suit - and he won't be taking part in either of the processions to and from Westminster Abbey along with other non-working royals.

While he may have been invited to the Buckingham Palace lunch, he will not be standing with the other senior royals on the famous balcony ahead of the flypast.

Harry is expected to make a very swift exit after the Coronation, so might not be in a place to accept the invitation to the lunch.

It's believed Harry will be "in and out of the UK in 24 hours" so he can get back to California for Prince Archie's birthday party.

This means he won't attend the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle on Sunday night - missing out on the entertainment.

Earlier this month, a royal source told The Mirror : "After much back and forth, Harry said that he would be returning for the King's Coronation but it will only be a fleeting visit.

"Organisers have been told Harry won't be attending the concert with the rest of the Royal Family, which is a great shame as it will be such a spectacular event."

Archie is celebrating his 4th birthday - and is expected to be treated to an intimate party.

"Harry's going to make every effort to get back in time for Archie's birthday," the insider told Page Six.

"It's going to be an intimate party, it's not going to be like 'My Super Sweet 16' or Portia de Rossi's 50th!"
