Meghan Markle will only reunite with her father Thomas Markle Snr "if she suffers a tragedy", claims one royal commentator.
The Duchess of Sussex, 41, has a strained relationship with her father after it broke down just days before her wedding to Prince Harry.
Their relationship came to a head when Thomas became the centre of a scandal as he was caught staging paparazzi pictures of himself in exchange for payment.
The Duke of Sussex addressed the incident in his memoir Spare, in which he said his wife was left devastated and experienced "pure grief".
Thomas has since urged Meghan to reconnect "before it's too late", but psychiatrist, Carole Lieberman doesn't think that will happen any time soon.

"The love of the rich and famous seem more valuable than the love of her father.
"Only if she suffers a tragedy in life - such as Harry finally getting fed up with her and divorcing her - would she think of crawling back to her dad for a hug," Carole told the Express.
Her comments were echoed by Meghan's half-sister Samantha Markle, who claimed the actress won't reunite with her estranged family unless she has "a motive".

When asked by Channel 7's Liam Bartlett if she would like to talk to her half-sister and "put all that water under the bridge", Samantha said it is unlikely to happen.
"I don't think she would do it without a motive.
"I don't think she's capable of empathy, remorse, or shame. I don't think she could feel enough to apologise," she said.

"I am very serious when I say she has dogged on Meghan forever," she told the Daily Mail. "She has never liked Meghan and she's always been jealous of her.
