A man has been charged with the murder of a woman in as he's also accused of slashing three others days before the alleged attack.

Johanita Kossiwa Dogbey, 31, was stabbed to death in broad daylight Brixton, south London, on Monday while on the phone to her grandmother.

Mohamed Nur, 33, has been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

The two were not known to each other.

He has also been charged with a further count of possession of an offensive weapon and three counts of causing grievous bodily harm against two women and a man.

The two women and a man suffered slash injuries in separate incidents in three streets in Brixton, that happened within a one-hour period on Saturday.

Nur is due to attend Croydon Magistrates' Court today.

Johanita was the founder of the Odette Foundation, which is a charity that worked with people suffering from sickle cell anaemia in Ghana and Togo.

In a moving tribute, Johanita's family said: "We are devastated by the news of the passing of our daughter.

"Johanita was a smart, dedicated, and loving girl who always helped anyone. She hasn’t got one bad bone in her body. She wouldn’t hurt a fly."

They added: “Our hearts are completely broken and will not understand why someone would take our beautiful girl away from us, she will forever be in our hearts as we will carry on living life as gracefully and beautifully as she did.”

At the scene on Monday, Johanita's father prayed at the cordon. Neighbours previously said the victim's grandmother heard a "terrible scream" before the phone fell to the floor during the attack.

They said the victim had been on her way home where she lives with her mother, father, brother and sister for a birthday celebration.

The mother-of-two, 52, told the Evening Standard: “I was with her dad at the crime scene. He said his daughter had gone to buy a present for her mother and was on her way home."
