Jason and Travis Kelce share emotional moment during Super Bowl celebrations

There was a heartwarming moment between Jason and Travis Kelce after the two brothers became the first ever siblings to be on opposing sides in a Super Bowl.

Ultimately, it was Travis, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, who tasted glory as his side secured a 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes starred for the champions as he threw for 182 yards and three scores, with kicker Harrison Butker securing the win through a chip shot with just 10 seconds on the clock remaining.

It meant heartbreak for the Eagles' 35-year-old centre Jason, two years older than his victorious brother. But rather than head for the locker rooms afterwards, he instead walked through the celebrations, and confetti, to find Travis and offer his congratulations.

Powerful scenes then followed, with the pair hugging before Travis is hear saying "I love you big guy," with Jason responding in kind. And afterwards, the Chiefs player - who was forced to apologise for swearing on television after his side won Super Bowl LVII - recalled the moment.

Asked what he said to his brother, an emotional Travis answered: "There's nothing you can really say to one another in a situation like that," he said, fighting back tears. "You joke around all the time and say that you want to beat your brother on the biggest stage ever but it's a weird feeling.

"And that team had great leadership, great coaches, and it came down to the end. And we've got all the respect in the world for those Eagles. But there's nothing really I could say to him apart from I love him and he played a hell of a year, a hell of the season."

Prior to the game, there had been a petition for the pair's mum Donna to perform the pre-game coin toss between her two sons. However, instead NFL bosses opted for a tribute to the iconic Pat Tillman, with four scholars for the Pat Tillman foundation performing the toss.

Kelce Jnr took a public dig at Joe Burrow after his side beat the Cincinnati Bengals last month to reach Super Bowl. But his show of respect with his brother had even Eagles fans praising his dignity: "The best I've ever felt about Travis," wrote @ComedyRealz. "He usually seems very obnoxious but here he comes off a lot better."

"Even as an Eagles fan, I like him," said @mwatkins33. "Listen to their podcast every week and he has more respect for his brother than anyone else. He’s a good dude." @watersdry added: "That's love."
