While many children's birthday treat wish list usually includes as big cake or a trip to McDonald's, Princess Charlotte could well have enjoyed something rather different yesterday.

She appears to have a surprisingly sophisticated palette for an eight-year-old, and is already a dab hand in the kitchen.

The Princess of Wales previously said that her children love to “make salads and stuff” as well as their signature dish, cheesy pasta.

But Kate also confirmed the youngster has a love of olives and she eats the Mediterranean snack all the time.

Charlotte isn't the only young royal to enjoy food not too many others of their ages usually do.

Five-year-old Prince Louis has a taste for beetroot - a root vegetable typically deplored by youngsters.

While filming with Mary Berry for a TV Christmas special in 2020, the Duchess divulged: "We've got carrots, beans, beetroot – a massive favourite – Louis absolutely loves beetroot."

Meanwhile Prince George is said to love spaghetti carbonara.

Kate often speaks of her love of home cooking, including making pizzas with her children which they reportedly "can't get enough of."

Pasta and roast chicken are staples in the Cambridge household, while the Duke and Duchess have spoken about their love of smoothies and steak while on royal duty.

The Cambridge's don't have much of a sweet tooth, according to Marie Claire, but love Italian food like pasta and pizza.

If King Charles has his way, his Coronation meal could be something very special.

Reportedly, one of his favourites is seared lamb with wild mushroom risotto.

According to his personal chef Darren McGrady in an interview with Delish, the veg used must be taken from his land.

The lamb itself must also be organic, it was suggested.
