A London hotel has been renamed the ‘Cor-Inn-nation’ – in honour of King Charles' big day.

Previously known as Premier Inn London Bank, on St Mary-at-Hill, the building features new signage to greet guests arriving for the special occasion.

The re-brand will be in situ throughout the coronation weekend, launched with its own guard at the entrance.

It comes after research by the hotel chain found 17% of Brits are planning to head down to the capital for the coronation.

Simon Ewins, managing director at Premier Inn, said: "Millions of people across the nation will be celebrating the coronation, with many descending on the capital to celebrate this momentous day in person.

“It promises to be one of the city’s biggest days of the year, and we wanted to mark the occasion in a special way by re-naming one of our central London hotels for the special event.”

“As some of our hotels near the coronation route are selling out in minutes and many of our hotels expected to be really popular, we’re looking forward to welcoming lots of well-wishers to our venues in the capital over the weekend.”

While 18% would even consider camping out in the big city to get the best spot for the shindig.

More than one in five (21%) have travelled to London for a royal event in the past, including Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012, or the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton the year before.

And 20% made the trip to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday celebrations in 2016.

As for the coronation, 41% of those who plan to travel say it’s a great opportunity for the country to come together.
