Manchester United will hope to solidify their Premier League top four hopes on Sunday, with the visit of Unai Emery's Aston Villa side to Old Trafford in a vital match in the race for European places.
Villa have mounted a late surge to become contenders in the top six, with four-time Europa League winner Emery having enjoyed huge success in his time in charge. They are currently on a ten match unbeaten run in the Premier League, with eight wins in that time elevating them to fifth place in the league.
A win on Sunday would take them to within three points of United, albeit Erik ten Hag's side would hold a game in hand and still be favourites to qualify for the Champions League. It will be a tough match between two strong sides at Old Trafford, with Villa's Ollie Watkins having scored 11 goals in 14 matches.
Villa will also have an extra two days rest compared to United, with their midweek win against Fulham taking place on Tuesday, while United's draw with Tottenham was on Thursday.
Emery's first match in charge was a win against the Red Devils back in November, with the home side running out 3-1 winners for a first home victory against the Red Devils in 27 years. They don't have to go back that far for a win at Old Trafford, however, with a victory in September 2021.
