The 2023 NFL Draft has been one of the more unpredictable classes in recent memory.

There were plenty of storylines to emerge but none as surprising as Kentucky quarterback Will Levis falling to the second round after being heavily projected to go as early as the third overall pick. Meanwhile, a number of players who had been spoken of as first-round prospects had been available in the fourth.

Thousands of fans descended on Kansas City, for the ceremony being held at the iconic Union Station in the Missouri city. The draft is held in different cities each year, and like Kansas City there will be another new destination next year, for a class which is looking likely to be one of the strongest in years.

Many analysts have said that around nine prospects would have been selected ahead of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young (who was picked with the first overall pick this year) had they been eligible for this year.

Along with four star quarterbacks, next year's class is also expected to have a generational wide receiver (Marvin Harrison Jr), offensive tackle (Joe Alt), tight end (Brock Bowers) and pass rusher (Dallas Turner).

Here is all you need to know on next year's draft.

Where is the 2024 NFL Draft being held?

Green Bay and Washington DC had hoped to host the draft, but it was eventually awarded to Detroit who will follow Kansas City, Las Vegas, Cleveland, Nashville, Arlington and Philadelphia on a list the has criss-crossed the US over the last few years.

It will be held in two different locations in the city, with the first two nights being at Campus Martius Park, with day three at the Hart Plaza - both in downtown Detroit.

The three-day selection of the cream of college football will begin on April 25.

Who will be drafted first?

2022 Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams - who beat out this year's second overall pick CJ Stroud to the award - is seen as the best quarterback prospect to enter the league since Andrew Luck.

The University of Southern California signal-caller, who will be 22 by the time of the 2024 NFL Draft, is already being compared to Patrick Mahomes, with some even believing he could be even better than the Kansas City Chiefs star.

The oddsmakers have him as a heavy favourite to go number one, with University of North Carolina's Drake Maye the second favourite.

While Williams is compared to Mahomes, Maye has a skillset similar to Josh Allen, being a taller, mobile quarterback with a huge right arm.

Which team will be drafting first?

While no-one can predict how the season will play out, we do know that the team with the worst record in the NFL will have the first pick and the team that win the Super Bowl will have the last. However trades will make a significant impact on how the board eventually looks.

Already we know that both the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals have two first round picks and are expected to be drafting near the top of the board. However, it's unlikely that either team will consider taking a quarterback - with the Bears being confident in Justin Fields while the Cardinals have just given Kyler Murray a huge contract extension.

Teams likely to be searching for a quarterback, will be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks - and all may look to move into the top two to get one of Williams or Maye.

But those hopes will depend on how their 2023 season plays out and whether they may have to pay a hefty price to move, or have played poorly enough to find them on the clock early in Detroit.
