Brits are being urged to ruffle through their National Lottery tickets and check online as two people out there have won the jackpot.

Two National Lottery ticket-holders have not yet claimed their EuroMillions and Set For Life prizes from draws in the last week.

It means one person has won £1 million playing EuroMillions and another has hit the jackpot for the £10,000-a-month Set For Life draw.

The National Lottery has said that one of the tickets was bought in a shop and the other was an online purchase.

While EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker guarantees a million pound jackpot prize in every draw, incredibly last Friday there were 20 millionaires made.

And only one of those 20 prizes has yet to be claimed with the ticket having been bought in retail.

The Set For Life draw on Thursday, 20 April, saw one lucky ticket-holder scoop the top prize of £10,000 a year for 30 years, and this winner is also yet to come forward - this winning ticket was purchased online.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Imagine being a millionaire and not even knowing it. We’re urging all EuroMillions and Set For Life players to check their tickets or log into their National Lottery Account to see if they are one of our missing winners.

“We’ve already started to support 19 of the 20 EuroMillions ticket-holders who have claimed their prizes from last Friday’s special draw, and we’re hoping that this last lucky winner who has yet to check their tickets will now come forward so that they can start to enjoy their amazing win.

“If you’re an online Set For Life player, check your National Lottery Account and give us a ring, imagine what you could do with £10,000 a month for the next 30 years!”

Once a ticket-holder has called Camelot and the claim has been validated and paid, the ticket-holder will then decide whether or not to go public and share their news. There will be no information on whether these wins are individual or syndicate winners unless the ticket-holder decides to go public.

With all major prizes (£50,000 and above) won in retail, approximately two weeks after the draw, if no valid claim has been received, the area in which the ticket was purchased is released. This area is provided by Camelot’s security team in line with its licence obligations and is designed to encourage tickets to be checked but also to enable the ticket-holder to remain anonymous if they wish.
