Scientists in Russia are feared to have "contacted aliens" and collected "cosmic intelligence" using psychic abilities.

Us journalist and UFO investigator George Knapp claims the country developed a practice called 'remote viewing' which allowed them to essentially see into the minds of aliens and harness their technology.

Knapp said he witnessed remote viewing during a visit to Russia in the 1990s on a trip to find out more about their alien research programme.

Speaking on the Weaponized podcast with investigative filmmaker Jeremy Corbell, Knapp said: "They have this gigantic UFO study that goes on for 10 years and then another one replaces it, and they're trying to figure out, 'How do we duplicate [alien] technology?'"

While in Russia, he claimed to have met with Lieutenant General Alexei Yurievich Savin, who apparently wanted to tell the public about the research.

"He had developed in essence a remote viewing," Knapp continued.

"He showed us some training films where they would take a Russian sailor, put him down in the bottom of a ship, and then ask him to identify where other naval assets were around it without being able to look out the window and see them.

"And they were really accurate, incredibly accurate, at least in this film."

What's more, he said the programme had been expanded outside of trained professionals, with ordinary Russian housewives also selected to trial the bizarre mind trick.

"There was one lady who specialised in determining medical conditions," Knapp added.

"She could size you up mentally and figure out what's going on with you physically.

"And she was pretty right-on with me with, I'm not going to go into details on that but there are some things you can look at me and figure out without being a psychic but she got some stuff that she shouldn't have known."

In scenes reminiscent of Netflix drama Stranger Things, Knapp claimed that those who master remote viewing can communicate with beings that aren't from Earth.

He continued: "They're projecting their consciousness out into the cosmos and then they run into somebody else who has a conversation with them or shares information with them or shares images with them.

Knapp first travelled to Soviet Russia after learning their UFO research programme was more advanced than that of the US.

There have been multiple supposed alien sightings in the country, including one high-profile case at Voronezh, about 530km south of Moscow.

There, witnesses claimed to have seen giant robot-like aliens exit a space ship in a park, walk around, and then get back in the aircraft.

"There were a lot of witnesses," Knapp said.

"Most of them were young people but they were not just little tiny kids, they were teenagers. It was a really interesting case."
