While management is known to push people's buttons at times, a man has claimed that his workplace has taken one step too far by imposing new work rules.

After sharing a snapshot of his workplace's patronising note and new policy demanding 'no fun', a man has been flooded with responses on popular forum site Reddit.

The anonymous user shared his post to the popular subreddit forum r/mildlyinfuriating, which boasts more than 5.6 million members to date.

More than 700 people fled to the comment section to discuss the rules in place, which insisted that 'friendships' happen outside of work hours.

The note read: "Attention employees of [blank].

"Work is not meant to be fun.

"This is your job. Do not dedicate work time to discussion of non-work topics.

"Do not facilitate friendships during work hours. Exchange phone numbers and/or hang out after work is complete.

"Reach me at [blank] if a co-worker is having non-work discussions on company time.

"Work is not your daycare," they added.

Flocking to the comment section, Reddit users admitted that they were in stitches over the note.

One person wrote: "That's hilarious. Good luck enforcing that. I think my boss initiates non-work related conversations more than anyone in the office."

Meanwhile, someone suggested that the employee reacts to the note: "Reply them with: Don't put Minion on this poster, you're having too much fun making the poster and we're not having it."

A third person penned: "Lmao if I saw this at my workplace, my boss better not dare calling me when I'm sick."

"WTF?" A fourth questioned. "I'd hate to work in that joy-sucking hellhole."
